AX5042 ISM long-range RF transceiver

Long range, narrow-band, RF transceiver IC

The AX5042 is a single-chip ultra narrowband RF transceiver for the 433/868/915 MHz SRD and ISM bands. The AX5042 offers very long range with a small number components.

The AX5042 transceiver consists of an integrated RF front-end with modulator and demodulator and flexible communication controller. Base band data processing is implemented in the integrated communication controller for user-friendly communication and configuration via SPI interface. The integrated HDLC protocol guarantees exceptionaly compact code and small CPU overhead. The AFC enables the user to use low end crystals.

The AX5042's flexibility make it ideal for SRD applications such as sensor networks, access control systems or home automation applications using the Konnex, ARIB or other standards. 

For narrow-band operation we recommend the usage of a TCXO. North american as well as european standards require freqency tolerances of 0.5 ppm  to 1.5 ppm for many narrow-band applications.

All transmit currents are measured on a PCB optimized for maximum output power. With optimized matching networks for lower power significant lower currents can be achieved, e.g. 15 mA for 0 dBm.
